Shin splints that means medial tibial stress syndrome is an inflammation of the muscles, tendons, and bone tissue around your tibia. Pain typically occurs along the inner border of the tibia, where muscles attach to the bone. Shin splint pain most often occurs on the inside edge of your tibia ie shinbone.

Symptoms

• Tenderness, soreness or pain along the inner part of your lower leg
• Mild swelling in your lower leg
• At first, the pain may stop when you stop running or exercising.
• Eventually, however, the pain may be continuous.
