Physical discomfort on the back or the underside of the heel that may make walking uncomfortable or difficult is called as Heel Pain.Heel pain is not caused by any underlying disease, its is caused by Examples include poorly fitting shoes, wearing high heeled shoes, prolonged period on feet, overuse such as long walks or marathons, sprains, strains or trauma.
Heel pain is a common foot problem experienced by majority of indiviuals. It usually occurs under the heel or just behind it, where the tendon connects to the heel bone.Pain that occurs under the heel is known as plantar fasciitis.
Heel pain is most often caused by plantar fasciitis,stress fracture, tendonitis, arthritis, nerve irritation or, rarely, a cyst.

Diagnosis and Treatment:

The Doctor may do an indepth assesssment analysis of the patients on the basis of symptoms and past history and suggest some physical test. After evaluation of the result the Physiotherapy will suggest some excercise programs for to minimise heel pain.
